The implementation of the new equipment, has the capacity to operate with two fuels alternatively or together: natural gas and propane, will also contribute to the reduction of harmful gas emissions from the plant, as well as savings in the facility’s fuel consumption.

The combustion equipment is already installed in a factory that produces, among other things, polypropylene. In fact, the factory is the largest producer of polypropylene in the Republic of Serbia, as well as in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, with a production capacity of 35,000 tons of polypropylene per year.

The burner developed by E&M Combustión is a duoblock burner model JBD 11,500 G2 Natural gas/propane gas of 11.5 MW with electronic combustion regulation, which includes a 10.4” Touch Screen panel, prepared to operate in a steam boiler.

Latest generation burners for all types of fuels

The modernization of a chemical plant in Serbia includes as the axis of its improvement process the installation of JBD burners, state-of-the-art combustion equipment to operate with all types of liquid and gaseous fuels. The standard range includes burners for traditional fuels such as gas-diesel, natural gas and LPG, fuel oil and combined gas-diesel and gas-fuel oil burners. E&M Combustión also designs special equipment for burning recycled oils and other types of alternative fuels such as hydrogen or biogas.

The delivery, as well as the installation of the equipment and regulation of the burner in the process is being carried out by the local company Termotim.

Uses of polypropylene

Polypropylene is a versatile plastic material commonly used in the manufacturing of packaging, textiles and industrial applications due to its main qualities of resistance and lightness. It is flexible, economical, durable and resistant to high temperatures, which is why it is used, for example, in the automotive and food industries, as well as other medical and pharmaceutical applications due to its ability to resist powerful disinfectants and solvents.

Properties of polypropylene:

  • Ability to be molded without degradationa
  • Resistant to water, detergents and solvents
  • Corrosion and chemical resistant
  • High tensile strength
  • Lower weight and lower density compared to other plastics
