A PERTE of industrial decarbonization that will allow to modernize and improve the competitiveness of the industry. The Spanish Government approved on December 27 the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE), which will have a public investment of €3,100 million to optimize the competitiveness of the industry in the medium and long term, through improving its energy efficiency, while at the same time reducing its greenhouse gas emissions.

"More efficient hydrogen combustion systems" as an objective. From E&M Combustión they want to respond to challenges such as improving the energy efficiency of their industrial clients, designing and implementing innovative combustion technologies with mixed burners and alternative fuel burners, being "a good formula to squeeze energy savings, with dual burners that they can automatically switch from using one fuel to another depending on costs”, remarked Iñigo Béjar, CEO of E&M Combustion in an interview with Industry TALKS. In general, the company looks towards sustainable and alternative fuels that achieve energy savings.

France invests to be a leader in decarbonised hydrogen. The French hydrogen sector is developing at great speed. Ten French initiatives appear among those selected as Important Projects of Common European Interest (PIIEC) dedicated to decarbonized hydrogen and Emmanuel Macron plans to invest 9,000 million euros for the country to become a leader in decarbonized hydrogen.  

The alternation of fuels in a plant helps to mitigate increases in the price of gas

The constant increase in the price of natural gas used by industry could be mitigated considerably by the alternation of fuels in the same production plant, an energy saving measure in times of unbridled growth in energy costs. This is already possible today from a technical point of view with the use of existing mixed combustion systems already in Spain, explains Iñigo Béjar, CEO of E&M Combustión in the Interempresas publication.
